  1. The 2011 Formula One season, the 62nd FIA Formula One season, will be held in the National Capital Region of Delhi from 28-30 October’11.

  2. On the anvil of its first anniversary, Vivanta by Taj marked a return to the garden city with the launch of its new hotel Vivanta by Taj - Yeshwantpur, Bangalore. Being conveniently located close to the international airport, the city centre and right in the middle of the convention district of Bangalore, it would serve as a perfect base for the cosmopolitan business traveler.

  3. The runway work at Jaipur airport was slated to begin from October this year has been deferred by six months due technical difficulties. The work on expansion of runway is now likely to commence by February-March 2012.This mean now airlines will not reschedule their flights due to runway work at the airport.

  4. India’s domestic low cost airlines-Spice Jet has started one stop flight from Jaipur to Goa via Ahmadabad from 01st October.

  5. Ganga Mahotsav- Varanasi 06-09 November 2011. Spread over five days, the Ganga Mahotsav is one of the biggest cultural festivals held in Varanasi. The festival centres on the holy occasion of the Deep Deepavali-the full moon right in the month of Karthik (according to Hindu Calendar). Every evening, the Ghats come alive with classical music and dance performances and millions of tiny diyas are lit to the chanting of vedic shlokas. Devotees take a cleaning dip in the water as part of Surya Namaskar ritual. The Ganga Mahotsav is an important fixture in the world of Indian classical music. The festival regularly sees performances by such famous exponents like Girija Devi, Bhimsen Joshi, Birju Maharaj, Amjad Ali Khan, Vilayat Ali Khan, Shujat Khan and Zakir Hussain.

  6. Delhi celebrates 100 years as the National Capital of India. The city was declared the national capital by King George V on December 12th, 1911 and the seat of the government was transferred from erstwhile Calcutta to the ancient city of Delhi.

  7. Kalachakra Puja to be held in Bodhgaya from 31st Dec 2011 to 10 Jan 2012. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, will lead the 11-day-long 29th Kalachakra Puja. It is being organized at Bodhgaya after a gap of nine years.

  8. Sufi Festival, Nagaur will be held from 17th – 19th February 2012 featuring the exponents of rare living traditions of Sufi expressions from across India and beyond, at the magical fort of Nagaur Ahichhatragarh.

  9. The Taj Mahal Trophy-International amateur golfing championship to be held from 01-08 April’12 in two cities of the golden circuit-Delhi & Agra.

  10. Designed to meet the requirements of its female clients traveling for business or leisure, ITC group of Hotels has designated an entire floor in each of their luxury collection properties as an EVA Floor – a floor that is completely staffed and serviced by female employees from the service personnel, to the Welcome Diva, security stewards, and room attendants. Conveniences such as multiple full-view mirrors, ambient lighting and high-end entertainment systems are in every room. ITC Hotels’ signature services -- everything from special dietary options, spa services, business facilities such as board room usage, and more – are also available on EVA Floors. EVA floors are generally located on the bottom to middle floors so that they are closer to the Lobby. Each hotel has between 12 and 14 EVA rooms.
