  1. Delhi celebrates 100years as the National Capital of India. The city was declared the national capital by King George V on December 12th, 1911 and the seat of the government was transferred from erstwhile Calcutta to the ancient city of Delhi.

  2. Be a part of the 2011 Formula One season, the 62nd FIA Formula One season, with us in the National Capital Region of Delhi. The event will be held in the end of October with the race taking place on 30 October’11.

  3. Jaipur airport will close partially for 15 months due to extension work of the runway, scheduled to start from October 2011. During this period airport will be closed between 10 am to 5 pm. All flight movements during the day will be shifted in the morning or evening hours. After the extension, the runway will be suitable for landing of Boeing 747 & Airbus 320.

  4. The state forest department of Jaipur is planning to start jungle safari at the Nahargarh Biological Park on Jaipur-Delhi highway. It is expected to be inaugurated this month itself. The Safari would include a hired gypsy and a guide for a tour of about 700 hectare forested land which is a home to more than 200 bird species & innumerable variety of flora & fauna beside jungle cats, reptiles and panthers. Safari also includes some heritage property dating back ages and a picturesque landscape. The department plans two separate routes for the safari with a maximum of 15 to 20 gypsy per route.

  5. Ganga Mahotsav- Varanasi 06-09 November 2011. Spread over five days, the Ganga Mahotsave is one of the biggest cultural festivals held in Varanasi. The festival centres on the holy occasion of the Deep Deepavali-the full moon right in the month of Karthik (according to Hindu Calendar). Every evening, the Ghats come alive with classical music and dance performances and millions of tiny diyas are lit to the chanting of vedic shlokas. Devotees take a cleaning dip in the water as part of Surya Namaskar ritual. The Ganga Mahotsav is an important fixture in the world of Indian classical music. The festival regularly sees performances by such famous exponents like Girija Devi, Bhimsen Joshi, Birju Maharaj, Amjad Ali Khan, Vilayat Ali Khan, Shujat Khan and Zakir Hussain.

  6. The Taj Mahal Trophy-International amateur golfing championship to be held from 01-08 April’12 in two cities of the golden circuit-Delhi & Agra.
